Your dog's bowl shouldn't turn green in 3 days.

Copper naturally kills the algae, bacteria, and biofilm that make water bowls slimy. SlimeFree uses copper's antimicrobial power so your dog drinks clean water — no scrubbing required.

What dog owners are saying

Early testers on a copper bowl noticed cleaner water, less scrubbing, and one less daily chore.

MR
“I stopped scrubbing my dogs' bowls daily. Two weeks in, the water still looks clean and there's no slime ring.”
Maya R. Three rescue dogs, Brooklyn
DK
“My vet mentioned biofilm forming in plastic bowls. Switched to copper and the slippery film just stopped appearing.”
Daniel K. Golden retriever dad, Seattle
PS
“Looks nicer on the counter than the old stainless bowl. The fact that it actually stays clean between refills is a bonus.”

Things dog owners ask before they switch

Honest answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, the waitlist form at the bottom goes straight to us.

How does a copper bowl actually keep water clean?

Copper releases ions that disrupt the biofilm bacteria build on plastic and stainless bowls. The ions rupture the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, and algae on contact — so the slime never gets a chance to form in the first place.

Is copper safe for pets, kids, and the household?

Yes. Copper is the same material used in veterinary and medical equipment, and the PVD layer seals it over food-grade 304 stainless so nothing leaches into the water. Dogs, cats, and children can be around the bowl every day with no concerns.

How long until I see results?

Water stays visibly cleaner within 24–48 hours of switching. Existing biofilm in an old plastic bowl takes about a week of daily copper contact to fully clear — once it does, the slime stops reappearing.

How long does shipping take?

We're launching in Australia first. Orders ship within 2 business days from our Sydney warehouse, with most deliveries arriving in 3–5 days via Australia Post. You'll get a tracking link by email.

What's your returns and refund policy?

No-questions returns within 30 days. If your dog doesn't take to the bowl, or you just changed your mind, send it back for a full refund — we even cover the return shipping.

What's in the bowl? What is it made of?

A solid food-grade 304 stainless steel core with a copper PVD coating on every interior and exterior surface. No plastics, no paints, no chemical treatments — just copper fused to steel at the molecular level.

Will it scratch or stain my floors or counters?

No. The copper PVD finish is harder than the underlying steel, and every bowl ships with either an anti-slip silicone base (Small) or a weighted stainless base (Medium and Large) so it sits firmly in place.

Does it actually work on hard, caked-on slime residue?

Yes — but it takes longer than fresh water. A copper bowl left in contact with that residue will break it down in roughly 3–4 days. Once it's gone, refills stay clean and the film doesn't return.

Science has known this for thousands of years.

Oligodynamic Effect

Copper ions destroy bacteria, fungi, and algae on contact — proven in peer-reviewed microbiology research.

No Chemicals

No bleach, no vinegar, no additives. Just copper and water. Safe for your dog, safe for the environment.

Veterinarian Approved

Copper leach rates from our bowls are less than 0.4mg per week — far below what dogs absorb through their diet.

Durable Build

Copper PVD over stainless steel — not a cheap plating. Built to last years, not months.

How copper keeps water clean

The oligodynamic effect has been documented since ancient Egypt. Modern science confirms it works on algae, bacteria, and biofilm.

01

Copper ions released

Water stored in a copper vessel continuously releases trace copper ions. These ions interact with microorganisms on contact.

02

Cell walls destroyed

Copper ions attack the cell membranes of bacteria and algae, disrupting their ability to survive and multiply in the bowl.

03

Biofilm can't form

Without bacteria colonizing the surface, biofilm has nothing to anchor to. The bowl stays genuinely clean between washes.

"Your dog deserves water that doesn't grow things."

We got tired of scrubbing green slime out of our dog's bowl every few days. So we built SlimeFree — the bowl that stays clean because the copper does the work.

No bleach. No scrubbing. Just clean water.

Three sizes. One problem solved.

Every SlimeFree bowl uses copper PVD over stainless steel — the same tech used in medical devices — for long-lasting antimicrobial protection.
